Review of Chimpanzee by Darin Bradley

Chimpanzee - Darin Bradley

I got this book awhile back. And now I am regretting that I did not pick it up immediately  and read it, because Darin built a new world, even though some element were still the same the world was completely different.
This book made me think, and then re-think again multiple times. At first I didn't understand why it was called Chimpanzee (As some of you might know I don't read blurbs. Ever. Because they spoil all of the fun of finding out the plot by myself.) But as I read on I understood.
Darin's writing style is new, fresh and something I really needed. I had lost hope of finding a true dystopian novel that would truly make me think. I must agree that books like Hunger Games, and Divergent did make me think a little but they are too predictable and even though I enjoyed them I knew what the next move of the characters would be. It nearly got to the point where it nearly became boring. (But I am a hopeless romantic so I just needed to read their love stories.) However, Chimpanzee is different. There is no hopeless love story, or two love-struck teenagers fighting against all odds to conquer their love, hell, there isn't even a love triangle. And that is why I loved the book. The plot and the world were new. I did not know what to expect and everything was a surprise.
I must say that Darin did an excellent job on his novel, I might even buy Noise and see whether it is just as amazing.

Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes (Rose Gardner Mystery Book 1)

Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes (Rose Gardner Mystery #1) - Denise Grover Swank

I bought this book a long time ago on my kindle. Yesterday I picked up this story thinking that I will read a little bit and go to sleep. It didn't happen of course. I could not stop or did not want to stop reading this because I just needed to find out what happens.

This is not supernatural story, except the fact that the main character sees visions, but that is not too big of a deal. Unless you count the fact that she nearly gets killed because she has a vision at the wrong time.

The main characters name is Rose. She is twenty four years old and her whole life she has lived by her mother's rules. On the day when she has had enough she has an argument with her mother. Unlucky for her when she comes home at night she finds her mother dead on the couch. It would have seemed as if a burglar had broken in and her mother was just in the way if Rose had not had a vision of herself being killed on the same coach.

Police blame her for the murder but Rose's lawyer gets her out of custody because police didn't have enough evidence to put her behind the bars. Finally she is free and she starts to live, following a wishlist she had created the day her mother had been killed.

Okay, so no more spoilers from me. There is much more to the story so much more but I can't tell you everything so you will have to read the book!

I absolutely loved this story because this was hilarious and made me laugh until my stomach hurt. (Not many books can do that) Also the characters were fresh and developed. This mystery novel is part of the series and the next book is Twenty-Nine and a Half Reasons.

This is more of adult book than young adult but I still strongly recommend this to anyone who wants to have a good laugh.

Life After Theft - Aprilynne Pike

If you start reading this book and expect a doomed love story between a ghost and a human. Don't. There is a love story but it's between two humans. This book is more concentrated on sending a message and how our choices effect us, and people around us.
This might be one of my favorite books because it was funny and serious in places where those emotions needed to be. Also the plot and characters were original and fresh making me want to read this as soon as possible.

Oh, sooooo prettyy....

Derek Landy revealed the back cover of the last book of Skulduggery Pleasant series!!! Isn't it just awesome? It's so awesome!!

AND IT IS COMING OUT IN 28th AUGUST!!!  I can't wait!!

Review of Phoning Home Essays by Jacob M Appeal

Phoning Home: Essays - Jacob M Appel

I received this from a giveaway as an e-book. I had never read books that were in format of essay and at first I was skeptical, but after the first essay the skepticism fled and was replaced with interest.

Hearing the word 'essay' did not inspire much interest in me because I still remember the long hours I had spent in school to finish the assigned essays and the multiple times I had to re-write them to get them just right, however Jacob M Appeal has changed my opinion about essays and the information they can contain, now when I think of essays the word 'boring' no longer comes into my mind.

But that is only my opinion, you might disagree with me completely.

"Ethical bribe"?! NO. It's just a BRIBE. *headdesk*

This is terrible. Post a 5-star review to Amazon, and this unethical author will put you in the running to win a Kindle Fire.

To whom at Amazon should this be emailed, to warn of upcoming fake 5-star reviews?

Another paid review company reviewing on amazon

Reblogged from Debbie's Spurts:

I just hit the "give feedback" menu choice on this profile on amazon and sent an email which said:

The profile at http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/AM09IO8QXEB1B/ref=cm_aya_bb_pdp is not an individual, unpaid consumer giving his/her product opinion but rather a business entity publicly stating was a group of reviewers and "...accepts forms of cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions or other forms of compensation" according to the website linked on the profile itself (source: http://www.mybookaddictionandmore.com/home/disclosure-policy/ )" – while the blog sort of discloses (not in a manner acceptable to FTC which requires it be seen when review is seen) payment accepted, none of the reviews on amazon disclose that these are paid reviews.  And yet they mix in with the consumer product opinions hosted by your site.

At least the reviews are not all 5-star reviews (almost all 4-stars with a few 3 and 5 mixed in) but there sure are a lot of them.

Sixteen years waiting for a single book...

Night World, No. 3 - L.J. Smith Night World, No. 1 - L.J. Smith Night World, No. 2 - L.J. Smith

As many of you are aware the tenth and final book of Night World series was supposed to be published in 1998 and as you all are aware it is 2014 now. Sixteen years... THIS BOOK HAS BEEN DELAYED FOR SIXTEEN FRIGGING YEARS. I decided to write about this because today I started to read Dark Visions trilogy by L.J.Smith, this bought memories of Night World and nearly my whole lifetime of waiting for the last book. I also today read that the supposed release date is 2030. I mean seriously? I will be old and not even interested in YA books. (I hope not because I love reading YA and paranormal fiction.) But still, my point is that this book should have come out in 1998 the release has been prolonged for far too long and there are many more Night World fans than Vampire Diaries book fans. (At least there was before we had the massive disappointment of waiting for one book to come out for sixteen years, however I'm still quite sure that many people will buy the book just to destroy it in a gruesome manner *sighs* I would never destroy a book like that even if I would be out of my mind)

So my message is clear; L.J you really need to hurry up and finish the damn book, too many people are waiting for it and even if it will be the worst book anyone has ever read it still will be disclosure to those who have been waiting for nearly two decades for a single book. This was one of my favorite series but after waiting for so long...well it goes down the list quite quickly.

SPOILER ALERT!

Immortals

Immortals - I have just finished reading Blue Moon by Alyson Noel. Which is the second book in The Immortals series. *takes in a deep breath* What? WHAT? You... Alyson... you nearly let Damen die. YOU nearly killed him. And you had my heart racing at that moment, but at the end I was quite disappointing because Ever didn't tell Damen about the new developments in their relationship and I really wanted to see his reaction. Also how will their relationship survive? They can even barely touch...I mean the physical contact is a big part of any relationship, and after four hundred years of not doing the deed...well what can I say, things are sure doing to get interesting.
Also that jerk Roman...interesting when he will make an appearance again. I hope sometime soon so that he gets his ass kicked.
All in all I enjoyed the book except for some certain moments that I did not enjoy at all but well the story can't exactly be completely perfect because there is no such a thing as perfection because everyone has their own tastes.

Never!!
